Electronic log book
The electronic log book is a modern variation of classical paper log books. It is generated automatically based on information that is sent by a mobile unit mounted in the vehicle. The electronic log book provides much more comfort than a paper log book because creating one does not require anybody from the workforce to get involved. It isaccuratebecause information about the route is obtained from GPS. Operating it is convenient nothing more than a computer, mobile telephone or tablet connected to the Internet and a web browser.
The electronic log book is multipurposebecause may contain, in addition to routine information, other datasuch as fuel stops and consumption, standing time with the engines running, maximum speed reached during a trip, etc. A simple switch built into the car allows the electronic log book to easily distinguish between private and business trips. Data can be edited whenever necessary either for individual trips or cumulatively. The entire process can also be streamlined by sending the electronic log book in a selected format to a specified e-mail address, again saving time.
Advantages of using an electronic log book:
- Automatic collection of data
- option to document other operational data
- the log is correct
- clear distinction made between private and business trips
- electronic outputs can be produced for further processing
- considerable time and money saved with higher productivity
